“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,” HOS 4:6.
Ignorance is a strong hold of Satan’s kingdom of darkness. Ignorance is something we should learn to understand. It is so destructive. Ignorance is a form of gross darkness. In HOS 4:6 we read, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.” When we have no love for the truth and when the Lord sends strong illusions that we believe a lie, our ignorance is our destruction. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.” It is important that we understand that when we reject knowledge, we don’t like the truth. The light is the condemnation of the world, therefore it is rejected.
Those who love not the truth go on in the delusions of their own hearts. Read what 2TH 2:11 says, “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” Why? They rejected knowledge and the truth.
When those in such darkness attempt to study Scripture, Satan stands by with his own running commentary, twisting the truth into a maze of lies. Stop and analyze what Satan is doing. He is twisting the truth into a maze of lies. Read in 2TH 2:9-10. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” Look at the kingdom of darkness that is involved with ignorance. The destruction comes through ignorance and ignorance is the judgment God sends to those who “love not the truth.”
We must wrestle against Satan’s devices to keep us ignorant of the truth. How do we do this? We cry out unto the Lord for wisdom. We cry out to the Lord for knowledge, understanding and a heart that is tender in His fear. We must not only receive His truth, but walk in it.
Satan’s devices are so cunning. He will distract with the riches and the cares of this life. Read MAR 4:19. “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” Satan can keep us ignorant by entertaining us with something of temporal value. He entertains our hearts and our minds. He will keep us so busy with the things of the world. The Word is choked and becomes unfruitful. He keeps us ignorant of the truth, by choking the Word.
Satan does all he can to cast a stumbling block before God’s messengers. When the Lord sent Moses to deliver Israel, Satan sent the wise men and the sorcerers to resist him. When the Lord sends His messengers to bring the gospel, Satan has his ambassador right there to distract. He confuses and keeps us from the Word. Read in EXO 7:11-12, “Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers….” Sorcerers are people who sell drugs. “Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers, now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.” The Lord yet prevails.
When Paul preached the truth, Satan sent Elymas to withstand him. You see this in ACT 13:8. “But Elymas the sorcerer [Who? The sorcerer] (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.” Satan does everything in his power to send his messengers, when the Lord sends His messengers with His Word. Satan will send his messengers of the kingdom of darkness to pervert the Word, “But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.”
Satan uses our friends to keep us ignorant of the truth. I’m going to show you why. The Lord says, “Come out from among them and be ye separate.” Satan will give us so many friends. They are such close friends, as long as we will follow them. They are really false prophets. Let me show you this in LUK 6:26. “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” They will speak to you as false prophets. They will speak false things to keep you in the kingdom of darkness.
Read what it says in LUK 6:22-23. “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.” The true prophets of the Lord were murdered. They were slaughtered, “stoned, they were sawn asunder,” HEW 11:37. The false prophets were carried on their shoulders. They were the ones that were exalted.
Satan uses delay to keep us ignorant. Think about this. When we delay, we put things off until tomorrow because we don’t have time today. He uses delay. Read HEB 3:7-8. “Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness.” The Lord says to do it today, if you will hear His voice. Satan says, “Do it tomorrow. You are still young. Wait a week or two.” Now we don’t have time.
Satan loves compromise. He will get you to compromise if he can’t get you in any other way. He makes us think we will have more friends if we’ll just compromise a little and not be so straight laced on the truth. He says that then we won’t have so many enemies. He makes us think we are too straight laced, dogmatic and orthodox. Read EXO 8:28. “And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: entreat for me.” The Pharaoh was telling them that he would compromise and give them their way, but they had to come right back and not go too far.
Satan has his own gospel of preaching peace without repentance. Satan’s gospel does not lead very far away from sin. Satan has a gospel. Accept Jesus and be saved. He will preach peace through the blood of the cross, as long as you don’t depart from sin. Satan doesn’t want repentance, “only ye shall not go very far away.” Don’t walk too far away from sin.
JER 23:21-22 reads, “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied….” How do we discern whether they were sent by the Lord? How do we decipher them? The next verse tells us, “… But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.” This is how we sort them out. Did they get people to turn from their evil ways, or did they compromise and say don’t go too far away? Entreat for me.
Christ must be king. Jesus Christ must be Lord. We must serve the Lord. We cannot serve God and mammon. We must understand that there is only one way to walk in the light. That is to walk under the Kingship of Christ. Look what we read in EXO 10:26, “Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind.” Moses had to tell Pharaoh we cannot compromise. We must obey the Lord. We must go and take everything, for there is no returning. There will be no looking back. If we put our hand to the plow and look back, we are not fit for the kingdom of heaven. This is what the Lord told Moses. “…there shall not an hoof be left behind.”
The sinner must leave all behind, leaving no occasion for return. LUK 11:52 tells us, “Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.” Do you see that the Lord is pointing out that ignorance is one of the most terrible traps of the kingdom of darkness? The lawyers not only refuse to enter in themselves, but they hinder those that would. They have taken away the key of knowledge. “…ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.” How did they hinder them? They perverted the truth, arguing against the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel He preached. They were hindering those that would enter. They tried to pervert the truth with their crafty designs of darkness.
The knowledge of Christ opens the way to freedom. Ignorance shuts out Christ and opens wide the door for Satan. This is something to think about. The knowledge of Christ delivers and brings the way of freedom from sin, from self and from Satan. Ignorance shuts out Christ and opens the door for Satan. Through ignorance, men serve the devil in the kingdom of darkness. Jesus tell us in JOH 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The Lord Jesus Christ opens wide the way. Satan will close the way.
Those laden with sin live in ignorance. They are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is something we have to understand. If we are going to walk in sin, we are living in ignorance. Ignorance is the key to the kingdom of darkness. They are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Read what 2TI 3:6-7 says. “For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Isn’t that amazing? They are going to live in sin, “lead captive silly women.” In other words live in sin with silly women, “with divers lust.” Yet they are “ever learning”. You would think they are really studying for the truth wouldn’t you? Yet “never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” We cannot walk in sin and walk in light. Neither can we walk in light and walk in sin. Amen.
